The closing when we bought our current house was like yours, as the seller was losing the home and then we found broken things at the walk through that had to be dealt with. I can empathize with you!Melissa C.http://missycor.u.yuku.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14143160.post-39939332866481309002009-05-27T10:09:07.374-05:002009-05-27T10:09:07.374-05:00I am so sorry you hit such a terrible snag so late...I am so sorry you hit such a terrible snag so late in the game! That is just terrible, especially that the seller didn't tell anyone when they knew it was happening. Some people! I do know what stress is and I hate for anyone to have it...especially when you were so looking forward to smooth sailing. And it put such a damper on the excitement and anticipation of creating your new home. I hope everything works out. I really do. But hopefully you can get this all worked out very quickly. I've only closed as a seller once and the buyer wasn't there; the other times were all bought from builders of various sorts and they were there -- I don't think it's that uncommon but sure stressful.

My parents had to delay a closing one day once. It turns out their buyer had a lean on the house they were selling, so couldn't sell, so couldn't buy, so my parents couldn't sell and thus couldn't buy, etc. They ended up in their house an extra night with the new buyer's refrigerator plugged into the house to keep the food they'd kept in it cold! It did all work out the next day and I hope yours does too. I'll be watching for details.

Hugs,
RobbinRobbinhttp://www.hand-dyedfibers.com/oscnuked/modules.php?name=Forums&file=weblog&w=15noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14143160.post-26065208670823001622009-05-25T10:48:14.668-05:002009-05-25T10:48:14.668-05:00How awful. You should never have been put in that position. Hopefully, things will get straightened out quickly and it will all become just a bad memory. BTW - your Mira is gorgeous. I am really looking forward to stitching on it.Kathy A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11666697296593621015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14143160.post-2726519588537343072009-05-24T23:12:44.147-05:002009-05-24T23:12:44.147-05:00(Jenn) that is horrible. Ok, I've only closed on one house, but I was there for my parents' closings.

I'm the suspicious sort, I might hire a lawyer Tuesday morning and sic him on everyone.

I will keep my fingers crossed that it all works out and by next week this will just be an interesting story.Missy Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02861791199270220392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14143160.post-70852690569627348892009-05-24T20:55:29.047-05:002009-05-24T20:55:29.047-05:00I am so glad that you were able to move into the h...I am so glad that you were able to move into the house, while everyone else figures out what is going on with the foreclosure/short sale. I'm sorry that the seller was there, though. That would have been tough.

When we were in the position of being forced to sell our house, I insisted that the closing be done separately for us (as the seller) and the buyers, so that I wouldn't have to come face to face with the buyer. I was really bitter about the unethical behavior of my bank and my realtor, and I just wanted to be done with the whole thing (we didn't have a foreclosure, or a short sale, but we were basically forced to sell due to change in income status).

I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts that everything gets resolved for you very quickly!Susan @ Real Girl Designshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04668012534706415927noreply@blogger.com
